This is an experimental aircraft capable of flying faster than the speed of sound, but it does so much more quietly. This is important because thanks to such technologies, supersonic passenger flights could become a reality again.

Once, the "Concorde" allowed passengers to fly from New York to London in less than three and a half hours. However, its operation was discontinued, partly due to the powerful sonic boom generated when flying at supersonic speeds. Because of this, supersonic flights over land have been banned in many countries.

The X-59 has an unusual design: a long pointed nose, wide triangular wings, and a T-shaped tailfin. This aerodynamics allows the aircraft to distribute shock waves so that they are much weaker.

In addition, the special shape of the lower fuselage directs most of the shock wave upwards. As a result, instead of a loud bang, only a muffled sound is heard on the ground, comparable to distant thunder.

During a recent test flight, engineers checked the aircraft's maneuverability and how it handles loads at high speeds. If the tests are successful, the X-59 technology could pave the way for the return of quiet supersonic passenger flights.

I found a thread called "Future" on this site and realized that we can fantasize and discuss a lot here. After all, the future can unfold in various ways, so I decided to write down my thoughts.

Three Possible Scenarios for the Future

It seems obvious to me that there are three main outcomes for the future. Let's fantasize 50 years ahead.

The first option is the most positive. Humanity will actively develop, make new discoveries, create new technologies, and everything will move forward.

The second option is less positive — humanity will find itself in a kind of stagnation, with no noticeable development and no serious regression. Of course, this is unlikely, but such a scenario is also possible.

The third option is the worst. Wars or global cataclysms could lead humanity to degradation. Why do I say that such things may have already happened? Because it remains unclear where some civilizations, which seemed highly developed for their time, disappeared to. History of what happened before them has also been lost.

A Scenario of Rapid Human Development

I don't even want to discuss the second option in detail, as it seems unlikely to me. But the first and third ones deserve attention.

The scenario in which humanity starts to rapidly develop has both good and bad sides. After all, new developments and discoveries can be used for both good and for war. But for now, let's consider the positive scenario.

There is a hypothetical theory called Technological Singularity, proposed by programmer and science fiction writer Vernor Vinge. It states that technological development will become so rapid and complex that it will become uncontrollable by humans. He even predicted the timeframes when this could happen, and we currently live in a period that many associate with the beginning of such processes.

We are already seeing how artificial intelligence is developing. Its progress is so fast that it becomes difficult for people to keep up. AI already performs a large part of the work that only humans used to do. If everything continues to develop at such a pace, then according to Vernor Vinge's assumptions, a significant breakthrough in AI may occur between 2027 and 2030, and full singularity could happen around 2045.

And if we look at what's happening today, it seems that we really are moving in that direction.

Based on everything we see, it is quite possible that in a few decades people will not understand how many technologies work anymore. Most tasks may be performed for us by AI, robots, and automated systems. On one hand, this is good, but on the other — such technologies can also be used for darker scenarios.

Moving to the Worst Scenario

The worst scenario is that we may not reach technological singularity at all. Or the singularity itself could lead to severe consequences for humanity and destroy much of what humans have created over centuries.

Right now we see wars and destruction. During major conflicts, scientific laboratories, infrastructure facilities, communication systems, and even parts of the global internet can be destroyed. All this can set humanity back by decades.

If wars become even more widespread, humanity might even annihilate itself. In that case, civilization may vanish just as other civilizations possibly have in the past.

What’s the Conclusion

Therefore, the forecast for 50 years ahead remains extremely unpredictable. We can build theories, assume various scenarios, and fantasize, but no one knows for sure what the world will be like in half a century.

So, we can only discuss and reflect on the future. Which is what I propose all of us do.

Remote work has stolen my office — and I still haven't decided whether to be happy about it or not.

"Find out how remote work has changed my office and how I feel about it. Thoughts on the pros and cons of the new working conditions."

Should you switch to remote work forever, or is there a trap behind convenience that rarely gets talked about?

Just a few years ago, like thousands of other people, I stood in traffic every morning, drank lukewarm coffee on the go, and counted the minutes until the end of the workday. At that time, remote work seemed like a ticket to a happy life. Wake up, open the laptop — and you're already at work. No bosses behind your back, no stuffy offices, and endless meetings.

When I was first offered to switch to full-time remote work, I thought, "This is it. Freedom."

But then something happened that I did not expect at all.

The home turned into an office, and the office became a shadow

The first weeks felt like a honeymoon. I saved time on the road, worked in comfortable clothes, and felt like the master of my own life.

However, gradually, things began to surface that no one had warned me about.

The workday started to stretch like chewing gum. The laptop is always nearby. Messages come in the evening. Tasks appear on weekends. The boundary between work and life began to blur.

One day, I caught myself thinking something strange: I used to leave work to go home, and now I have nowhere to go.

Freedom or a golden cage?

Proponents of remote work love to repeat: "The main thing is the result, not the place." And there is some truth in that.

But there is another side.

The spontaneous conversations with colleagues disappeared. The sense of team vanished. Even simple communication started to feel like messaging with avatars on a screen.

That's when I first asked myself: have I traded live communication for comfortable isolation?

The numbers say one thing, but feelings say quite another

The facts are hard to ignore. Remote work allows for saving time and money, and many studies show an increase in employee productivity.

But here’s the paradox.

The longer I worked from home, the more often I heard from acquaintances the same phrase:

“I’m always busy, but somehow I feel more tired than before.”

And you know what? I started to understand what they were talking about.

The most unexpected discovery

There is one thing I realized not immediately.

Remote work does not solve a person's problems. It only amplifies what is already inside.

If you're organized — it will get easier. If not — the chaos will increase several times.

That's why there is simply no universal answer to the question, "Should you switch to remote work forever?"

For some, it's a ticket to freedom and a better balance between life and work. For others, it's a slow descent into loneliness and an endless workday.

What do you think?

Would you switch to remote work forever, or do you think the office is more necessary for a person than it seems at first glance? I’d love to read your opinion in the comments.

Why do modern films often fall short of the classics?

Modern films often fall short of classics due to a lack of originality, an overload of CGI, clichéd plots, and commercial factors, which can affect the quality of the script and acting.

I grew up at a time when films were just starting to be made actively. I grew up in the USSR and now I watch both old and new films. I've begun to notice that old films or cartoons were made and shot very well — in terms of plot, staging, and overall quality. Despite the fact that there were no technologies like 3D, AI, and so on. Everything was shot on film, and cartoons were drawn by hand.

Interestingly, this applies not only to Soviet films. In different countries, I think the situation in this sphere is similar.

I tried to understand why they turned out to be so good and high-quality in essence in the 70s and 80s, and so far I've come to only one conclusion: at that time it was seen as art, people were passionate about the idea, they enjoyed creating something new. And now it has increasingly turned into business, and there is no inspiration to create something for the sake of the idea. They do it only for money, which is why many films or cartoons come out somewhat formulaic nowadays.

What do you think, why did it turn out this way?

How to clean eggs

Discover effective ways to clean eggs to keep them fresh and prevent contamination. Our tips will help you quickly and safely clean eggs for culinary use.

I want to share a little life hack on how to peel chicken eggs. Everyone knows that there is one big problem: when you start peeling an egg, it can peel well, or it can be just awful when the shell starts to stick to the egg, and in the end, you tear the shell off with part of the egg.

Well, first of all, a lot depends on the eggs themselves. There are really good and high-quality eggs that peel easily and are tasty on their own. By the way, it’s a fact — the better and tastier the egg, the better it peels for some reason. I don’t know why that is.

But if you happen to have an egg that doesn’t peel well, especially if the eggs were not just boiled, but have been sitting in the fridge already boiled, then I suggest that after you crack the shell, you immediately wash the egg under warm water. The water starts to get inside under the shell and really helps to peel it well.

So, that’s the life hack. Maybe you have some of your own methods or life hacks for peeling eggs?

How to Get Out of a Binge — My Experience

"Learn how to overcome binge drinking using personal experience. Effective tips and strategies for overcoming addiction and returning to a normal life."

Иллюстрация с древними символами для обсуждения
Медиа-вопрос о древних символах и возможных инструкциях
I am a person who has consumed alcohol since my youth, and I have experienced a lot: including months of binge drinking. But now I have come to a point where I can calmly go on a binge for a couple of weeks and drink until I feel terrible, and then calmly come out of it over a few days. After that, I can go for months without drinking.

Overall, my lifestyle now is like this: sometimes I can drink heavily for a week, and then not drink for six months. So, let me tell you about all the states and how I come out of a terrible binge when my body is shaking and hurting inside.

I must warn you right away: these are not recommendations for action, but simply my personal experience that has developed over the years.

Let's imagine the most severe scenario. For example, you have been drinking for weeks without stopping. Moreover, you have been drinking everything, mixing different drinks and washing them down with various sodas and other not-so-healthy liquids. Considering that alcohol is very high in calories, you have probably eaten almost nothing during this time—maybe just snacked occasionally.

What will happen to you after such a binge

The hardest part is that your entire digestive system will suffer a lot. Everything will hurt: from the pancreas to the intestines. You will struggle with this for several days after you stop drinking alcohol.

Of course, you will shake terribly. The first few days, sleep will be unbearable: constant half-sleep, nightmares, and a feeling that you can't rest properly.

So you have decided that that's it—enough. First of all, you will need a lot of water. You probably won't be able to go to the store, so it's better to order everything you need for delivery.

You need to order a lot of regular water and maybe one bottle of mineral water. The mineral water will be useful later, when you wash some salts out of your body with regular water and need to restore the balance a bit.

In general, it’s simple—you drink water. But it's important to understand that your body needs food. Since your digestive system is very irritated, you won't be able to eat much or eat heavy meals. You need to fill your stomach little by little.

For this, I recommend ordering a couple of cans of jelly. It at least somewhat coats the stomach. I also recommend bananas—they are convenient to eat little by little. Personally, they help me calm down a bit before sleep.

For the first couple of days, you will be drinking a lot of water. You will probably start having problems with your stool and will have to run to the bathroom often. This is normal; your body is starting to cleanse itself.

Also, a lot of fluids will be released through sweat. Sometimes you drink water by the liters, but hardly go to the bathroom. So, if possible, I recommend at least taking a shower once a day, if your condition allows it.

As for food, you can buy some vegetables—cucumbers, tomatoes—and eat them little by little. You can drink hot tea with lemon or, after some time, brew instant noodles.

After a couple of days, your digestive system will start to normalize, and you will notice it yourself. If possible, you should take a little walk. It doesn’t have to be far—even a five-minute walk is good. Your body needs to start moving.

After 2–3 days, the problems with your digestive system and the feeling that all your insides hurt will gradually go away. You will be able to eat normally. However, your head may still feel cloudy, and you may experience dizziness and worsening vision. Usually, this lasts for a few more days.

To speed up recovery, I try to eat more protein-rich foods: eggs, meat (preferably beef). I also highly recommend greens. You can eat dill, parsley, green onions—whatever you like.

After a week, you will start to feel more or less normal. The key is to gradually get your body back on track and to endure a bit. Even after severe binges, after a week, your condition usually becomes much better.

The main points:

  • eat little by little;
  • move little by little;
  • drink a lot of water.

After normalizing your condition, I usually go through a course of vitamins. Sometimes I take nootropics, like Phenotropil, but I won’t recommend anything here. I use it for myself to get back in shape faster. If you have blood pressure problems or other diseases, it's better to consult a doctor first. There are also softer options, but they are usually taken for a longer time.

The most important thing is how not to fall back into a binge again.

For me, it all depends on the fact that after recovery, I always find something to do. Work, part-time job, repairs, physical labor—whatever it is. Whether it's chopping wood all day or working as a courier. If you don’t engage in anything, it's very easy to return to alcohol, and then everything will be in vain.

Overall, as I've already mentioned, this is how it works for me: I can drink for two weeks, then not drink at all for six months and just work.

Don't drink, guys!!!!

Review of Encona Sauces

Discover the variety of Encona sauces: from spicy to sweet, each sauce will add a unique flavor to your dishes. Here you will find the perfect pairings for every foodie!

I have lived in Asia for many years, and I developed a love for everything spicy. Not just spicy, but VERY spicy. I searched for sauces that were of excellent quality and had the right heat. And now I will tell you about the sauces Encona. So far, these are the best sauces I've found on the market.

1. Carolina Reaper

This is, in fact, a sauce based on one of the hottest peppers — Carolina Reaper. Very pleasant, and I would say it is spicy, but not overly so. It can be mixed with ketchup — it pairs very well and helps to reduce the heat. A very enjoyable sauce, probably my favorite from the Encona range.

2. Exxxtra HOT Pepper

Despite the fact that Carolina Reaper, which I mentioned above, should be the hottest, that’s not the case. This sauce Exxxtra HOT Pepper is the hottest in their entire range. Just a few drops are enough to burn everything possible.

I adore it too, but using it every day is just not possible. It contains a blend of peppers: Habanero, Scotch Bonnet, and Bhut Jolokia.

In general, I recommend keeping a bottle on hand, but you probably won't use it regularly.

3. Original Pepper

This is a quite ordinary original sauce. Also tasty, but still, it's better to take Carolina Reaper, and if it is too spicy for you — just mix it with ketchup. In my opinion, it tastes better that way.

4. Cajun HOT

This sauce is quite mediocre and fairly runny. Honestly, it's a matter of taste. Despite being a British sauce, it reminds me more of some Chinese sauces.

In conclusion

I recommend always keeping a supply of Carolina Reaper and, as mentioned above, mixing it with ketchup if necessary. And also having a bottle of Exxxtra HOT Pepper on hand for when you want your eyes to pop out.

That's a little overview. Let me know what sauces you like.

Salad with Red Beans - Very Satisfying

Red Bean Salad - a hearty and nutritious dish, perfectly suited for healthy eating. Find out how to prepare it easily and quickly!

Иллюстрация с древними символами для обсуждения
Медиа-вопрос о древних символах и возможных инструкциях
A little backstory. I am 193 cm tall, and my whole life I weighed about 70 kg. I didn't look too skinny, but no matter how much I ate, I couldn't gain weight. I don't know, maybe someone has already made this recipe, but I came up with it myself to gain weight. I gathered all the most filling yet relatively healthy ingredients and started eating this salad. After a month and a half, I was already weighing nearly 90 kg. It's very filling and, in my opinion, very tasty. I would call it a purely man's salad.

In general, let's move on to the step-by-step recipe.

1. Beans

The first thing we need is one can of red beans. Without sauce, just red beans. Although it is considered a dietary product, it is rich in plant protein.

2. Bell Pepper

Next, for some vitamins, we need 3 bell peppers. You can use yellow or red, it doesn't really matter. Some people are allergic to red peppers, so you can take yellow — the taste won't change much. Cut everything into cubes or however you prefer.

3. Ham

You will need 400 g of ham. You can take not the most expensive ham, as the taste won't change much — all the ingredients will provide a combined flavor together. Cut everything into cubes too.

4. Greens

We will also add some greens. You can use just dill, or mix dill, parsley, green onions — any greens you like.

5. Cheese

One of the main ingredients is cheese. You will need about 400 g of it too. Grate it into all the ingredients and mix thoroughly. The cheese will add density to the salad and help better combine all the ingredients.

6. Mayonnaise

And the final step is mayonnaise. I recommend taking regular mayonnaise, not the cheapest, but not necessarily expensive either. The main thing is that it shouldn't be too runny. Add it little by little and mix everything. The amount is to your liking, so the consistency of the salad suits you.

That's pretty much it. After preparation, place the salad in the fridge for about an hour. Before eating, mix it well again — and it can be served at the table.

Ingredients:
  • Red beans — 1 can
  • Bell peppers — 3 pieces
  • Ham — 400 g
  • Greens — to taste
  • Cheese — 400 g (can be adjusted to taste)
  • Mayonnaise — to taste

What do you think of the salad? Enjoy your meal! 😊
