QRazy's Key Findings
- Samsung has introduced new smart glasses integrated into the Galaxy ecosystem for everyday use.
- The glasses provide up to 9 hours of battery life and comfort thanks to a lightweight frame from Gentle Monster and Warby Parker.
- The innovative Android XR platform allows for voice and gesture control of the device, facilitating real-time tasks.
Samsung has officially unveiled the new generation of smart glasses, which are becoming part of the Galaxy ecosystem. The novelty was presented at the Galaxy Unpacked event in London. The device was created in collaboration with well-known frame manufacturers Gentle Monster and Warby Parker and is intended to extend the capabilities of artificial intelligence beyond smartphones, making them accessible directly in everyday life.
Galaxy goes beyond the smartphone

The company continues to develop the idea first outlined at the last Google I/O conference. If previously the phone was at the center of the Galaxy ecosystem, now Samsung is taking the next step by offering a wearable device capable of accompanying users during work, travel, communication, and any daily activities without the need to constantly look at a screen.
According to the Chief Operating Officer of the Mobile eXperience (MX) division of Samsung Electronics, Won-Jun Choi, the era of agent-based artificial intelligence requires new ways of interacting with technology.
“As agent-based artificial intelligence transforms the mobile experience, the next stage is to create a more natural and contextual interaction. Smart glasses provide a new contact point, allowing personalized AI assistance to organically accompany a person in everyday life,” noted Won-Jun Choi.
Lightweight glasses for everyday use
Samsung has focused not only on technology but also on comfort. The glasses feature a thin and lightweight frame designed for constant wear. The manufacturer promises a combination of low weight, durability, and a comfortable fit necessary for daily use.
The appearance was developed with the help of two well-known brands — Gentle Monster and Warby Parker. As a result, buyers will be offered various frame shapes, color options, and lens choices tailored to different tastes and lifestyles.
Up to nine hours of autonomy
The novelty is equipped with a built-in battery that lasts up to 9 hours of use on a single charge. The included charging case allows for a full recharge of the device up to seven times, significantly increasing the total usage time.
The casing integrates a camera that allows transmitting visual context to artificial intelligence. Data processing is handled by the Snapdragon AR1 Gen1 platform, optimized for compact AR devices. It ensures real-time AI operation, supports touch control, energy efficiency, stable communication, and effective cooling of components inside the thin frame.
Gemini comes into the smart glasses format
The device is a result of collaboration between Samsung and Google. The glasses run on the Android XR platform and leverage the Gemini capabilities, turning voice interaction with artificial intelligence into a more natural process.
President of the Android Ecosystem at Google, Sameer Samat, noted that both companies are committed to making intelligent services as useful as possible in everyday life.
“Google and Samsung are united in the pursuit of making context-aware artificial intelligence a part of everyday life. With the Android XR platform, the smart glasses combine modern design and the capabilities of Gemini, which reacts to what the user sees, providing assistance throughout the day without using hands,” declared Sameer Samat.
What the new Samsung smart glasses can do
Samsung highlighted several key use cases for the device:
- Assistance without distraction. The glasses can voice important information, briefly summarize long messages, perform real-time translation, and be controlled by voice or gestures through compatible devices.
- Memory for surrounding information. Upon user's request, the built-in camera can capture an image of a whiteboard during a meeting or the contents of a meeting, after which it organizes materials in Samsung Notes for later viewing, sharing, and continuing work.
- Real-time navigation and prompts. The artificial intelligence helps navigate the terrain, build routes, choose destinations, explain the surroundings, and facilitate communication in different languages with the live translation feature.
- Contextual task handling. The system remembers the current context and can continue previously started actions, reducing the need to repeat commands and search for previously used information.
- First-person image transmission. During calls, the user can show the interlocutor what they see or record videos from their perspective without using their hands.
Two design versions
At the presentation, Samsung showcased two design variations.
The Gentle Monster version features a thin black frame with a straight upper line and gently rounded lower corners, creating a modern and expressive silhouette.
The Warby Parker model is done in a rich brown hue. It is distinguished by a slightly raised brow line, making the glasses look versatile and suitable for everyday use.
During development, Samsung engineers worked closely with designers from both brands to pay particular attention to the fit of the glasses. Contact points at the forehead and ears were redesigned, achieving a more comfortable fit without sacrificing the reliability of the construction and the durability of the device.
What you need to know

Some features depend on the region, language, applications used, compatible Galaxy devices, and network connectivity availability. Gesture control is only available when using compatible Watch9 devices. Integration with Samsung Notes requires supported Samsung services, and translation, navigation, video sharing, and recording functions may vary based on the legislation of individual countries, the application used, and other conditions.
The stated battery life also depends on the network environment, active features, device settings, and other operating factors. Snapdragon is a trademark of Qualcomm Incorporated, and products under the Snapdragon brand are produced by Qualcomm Technologies and its subsidiaries.
