Constant Use of AI Decreases Attention

The increase in the use of artificial intelligence may negatively affect users' attention levels. Learn how to prevent a decline in concentration and maintain focus in the digital age.

I noticed that my attention in the internet has noticeably worsened. I actively use AI at work, and over time I've reached the point where I've stopped noticing obvious things.

For example, I visit some service to register or set something up: change my avatar, find the right option, or update my information. And instead of simply taking a careful look at the interface, I take a screenshot, upload it to GPT, and ask how to do it.

Because of this, my attention has significantly declined—I have indeed become worse at noticing simple and obvious elements of the interface.

Sometimes this feels like a kind of "attention degradation," and it raises the thought that something needs to be done about it. Otherwise, it seems things will only get worse, especially considering how quickly artificial intelligence is developing and how much it simplifies the performance of many tasks.

The question arises: is this normal? Or should we really work on it and consciously train attention and independent thinking to not lose these skills? Because if we don't, there is a feeling that over time, people may become increasingly dependent on external tools.
